The US House of Representatives yesterday passed by voice vote HR 2887, temporarily extending current funding (the same since 2007) levels of SAFETEA-LU.
The bill would extend both the FAA authorization and the surface transportation authorization ahead for several months (FAA until the end of January, surface transportation for six months until the end of March).
It now goes to the Senate and we could see passage and signature by the President by the end of the week, according to some news sources.

We have three cataloging projects going on this year – Illinois, New Mexico and North Carolina are using pooled funds to get backlog materials cataloged and into their local systems and OCLC. These projects will have a big impact on local access for researchers and resource sharing among libraries.
